Thank you Maseru Toyota!
In the month of January, the Teen Club team at BCMCF-L hosted two trainings in Maseru, a Teen Leader Training and a Young Adult Volunteer Training. Both trainings were made possible by a generous donation from Maseru Toyota. These two training camps allowed us to begin the year as an integrated, committed team, and we hope they will have a long-lasting impact on the teens and youth who attended.
On January 6-7, 2017, 40 Teen Leaders took part in our Teen Leader Training camp. These teens were selected by their peers and the BCMCF-L staff based on personal qualities and leadership skills, and will play an integral part in Teen Club facilitation in 2017. At the training, the Teen Leaders learned about topics such as leadership styles and how to care for themselves and for others.
The Young Adult Volunteer Training took place on January 27th. Our team of HIV-infected Basotho youth who help lead the Teen Club meetings received a day of training that included conflict management coaching and a discussion of their role and responsibilities as role models for Teen Club members. Like the Teen Leader training, this training enabled synergy and reflection that will highly benefit the Teen Club program.
We are grateful for Maseru Toyota’s support to our adolescent psychosocial support program, and are looking forward to continued success in 2017!
